Forde, Seidt Named To Team USA As Members of the US World University Games Team

Lakeside swimmers Brooke Forde and Asia Seidt have each earned spots on the United States’ 2017 World University Games roster, USA Swimming announced Monday.

Asia will represent Team USA in the 200 backstroke after finishing third in the event at the US World Championship in Indianapolis, posting the 13th fastest time in the world this year. This fall she will be going into her sophomore year at the University of Kentucky where she was an NCAA All-American last season.

Brooke will represent Team USA in the 200 IM and 400 IM. She finished third in the 400 IM at the US World Championship Trials with the 19th fastest time in the world this year. She was also selected to swim the 200 IM after finishing 7th at the US World Championship Trials. This fall she will be starting her freshman year at Stanford.

Organized by the International University Sports Federation, the World University Games (WUGS) feature some of the top collegiate athletes in the world. Swimming is one of 17 sports to be contested between Aug. 19-30 in this year’s host city of Taipei City, Taiwan. To be eligible for this meet, each athlete either was or will be enrolled as a full time student in the Spring or Fall semesters this year.
